Our community service learning group has hosted a similar event for years. It has expanded to include families and the public. Last year we had over 100 visitors and 25 families present food and culture. It provides a great sense of pride and community #HackLearning

We have to then define kindness. I’ve seen situations where “disagreement” is considered “unkind.” #hacklearning

Power dynamics are leveled. There are no consequences for disagreement; in fact it is rewarded. That’s not life in most classrooms. #hacklearning

Indeed! It seems as though some adults may get scared if a student is “too empowered.” But with genuine relationships and respect, empowering our kids helps them grow! #HackLearning

A3. #hacklearning I ask myself why people of all ages leave the cinema eager to offer meaningful opinions of the movie just seen. What's that winning formula? The answer likely includes #relevance plus #novelty (your brain sits up for these) and safe #criticalThinking with #peers
